ante in some card games : a starting bet indicating that you enter the
game and it guarantees that you will get a particular number of cards
American roulette
a type of roulette. You can make a bet when the dice is thrown till the
croupier says no more bets. Counters of different colors are used to
differentiate the bets of all the players. The croupier does all the work with
his/her hands. The game is much quicker than in a French version. A spinning
wheel with 38 numbers is used in the U.S.A. (the numbers from 37 to 36, 0-zero,
and 00- double zero, the numbers are in different order than in 37 numbers
type). In Europe there is a game called American roulette played according
to the rules of the American roulette but with the use of the classic 37 number
spinning wheel. In the U.S.A. this game called European roulette.

"corner" - (four numbers) betting four contiguous numbers in roulette.
You make a bet by placing the counters where the numbers` areas adjoin the
corners. You bet the first four numbers (0,1,2,3) by placing the counters where
the line separating 0 from the rest of the numbers meets the layout outer line.

"dozen" - (one set of twelve) betting one of the three succeeding
dozens of numbers in roulette. You make a bet by placing the counters on
specially marked fields assigned to the succeeding dozens: a field marked 1st
12 ( for numbers 1-12), 2nd 12 ( for numbers 13-24) and 3rd
12 ( for numbers 25-36).

French roulette
- the most classic type of roulette spinning wheel with 37 numbers (the numbers
from 1 to 36 and 0). All the bets must be made by throwing the dice. All the
guests play with value counters (the same for all the guests). The croupier
serves the guests with a special tool called rakes.

a set of five succeeding cards of one color (diamonds, hearts, clubs, spades)
"six line" - (six numbers) betting six numbers in two bordering lines
in roulette. You make a bet by placing the counters on a crossing of a outer
line and a line of all six numbers.
"split" - (two numbers) in roulette, betting two neighboring numbers.
You make a bet by placing the counters on a line dividing the chosen numbers.
stake the value of a bet
"straight up" - (one number) in roulette, betting one particular
number. You make a bet by placing the counters in the middle of a chosen field.
"street" - (three numbers) in roulette, betting three neighboring
numbers. You make a bet by placing the counters on an outer line of the row.
