Texas Hold'em Poker Strategy

Comments:

You count cards as "outs" only when it is the last card needed to make a set of cards. For example, if you have only three spades (three cards for flush), it does not count as flush draw with 10 outs. You need four spades (flush draw) to count the rest of spades as outs (9 outs).

The player should count all the possible outs for a potentially winning hand, i.e. outs for straight + outs for a high pair ( so called over cards) but not outs which could improve the opponent`s situation.

Pocket: Jª A§

Flop: K© 10© 2§

In this case the player has 4 outs Q for straight + 3 outs for a pair of Aces ( over cards) minus 2 outs (A© i Q© ) which allows the opponent to get flush. The sum of outs is 5.

Odds Flop - River and Flop-Turn

When there are two cards left to be dealt in Flop, you can use Odds Flop - River first; that is joined Odds Flop - Turn and Flop - River. But you need to remember that probably you will have to put in some more money in Turn. The pools value will be different. What is more, a Turn card may turn out to be helpful for the opponents. Next, in Turn you can decide again about your next move by using Odds Turn River.

Unfortunately, this strategy is very variable (i.e. unknown poll and bet value in Turn etc.). That is why a lot of professional players and book authors on poker advice to use "step by step" strategy. That means- you need to calculate the percentage of getting outs in Flop- Turn, and then in Turn River.
